Are all mountain bike parts interchangable?

I'm looking into getting my first mountain bike since i was 12 (11 years ago). I don't want to spend more than 400 on a used one, but I don't want to be stuck with a below average bike if I decide to continue riding. Will all mountain bike parts fit on

it depends
some parts are practically unique to the given bike
derailleur hanger

others are totally interchangeable
derailleurs
crank arms
pedals
saddle

others may or may not be

I have an xr 12 150ccdirt bike. I need to find where i can find parts for it. I also need repair help.?

I am not getting any spark to the plug. i am not sure if it is the coil or not. can anyone give me some advice on troubleshooting steps to isolate the fault in the ignition system? it is a cdi ignition system.

Illustrated assembly guide, waterslide decal, and window/windshield painting masks included. *Aaron's Workshop notes: The illustrated assembly guide that comes with this kit contains both English and Japanese, although minor written instructions contained within pictorial illustrations are mostly in Japanese.
